Once a great photographer told me that, we do photos at weddings for ourselves and then we “sell” them to the spouses.
I don’t know yet if he was right or wrong, but I think there are weddings were you must take pictures, that ones that makes you feel more comfortable with yourself.
In addition, you are happy. I have known Amber & Suzanne by e-mail; they told me of their wedding in Lucca so we started writing and talking about many things and then we met on their wedding day.
The expectations for me were huge. The Law on Civil Unions is quite new and even if I have gay friends, like everybody, the idea of watching a true same sex wedding intrigued me quite a lot. I have to say, I was disappointed. 😀
The marriage of Amber & Suzanne, their complicity and spontaneity have turned the wedding in such an amazing celebration from the beginning to the very end.
It was not the usual type of wedding, first their friends, they have helped them prepare the location; some took care of flowers, another of the music.
In no time, they completely changed Villa Orpheus in the perfect location for a wedding. The preparation was very informal and when the spouses were getting ready, friend were cooking pasta (I am sorry to say this but English people are good organizers but bad cooks).
The greatest moment for me was during the speeches of the spouses and their friends because it is that time when you begin to know their story, sometimes thanks to humorous tales or thanks to stories that are more serious.
And then it was dancing time…needless to say but it’s always the moment when everybody relax and let us all get carried away…and maybe if there’s time a good moment for a mojito..
